The Parents' Council - Christmas 2021 Update

Why get involved?

Joining the Parents' Council is a good way to learn about school life by meeting the principal and parents of other class groups in a relaxed atmosphere.

If you bring your questions and suggestions to meetings, we can make the school even more supportive for our boys.

What does the Parents' Council do?

During Covid times, the parents' council has met a few times over Zoom, to support key events in school life such as

the book rental scheme for the boys

fundraisers to pay for lovely "extras" like the online Christmas pantomime the boys watch in their classrooms, prizes for raffles, and the ice cream truck on Sports Day

sharing our ideas with the principal about other ways to support our boys' learning

Different ways parents support the Parents' Council:

attending meetings and sharing ideas

helping with fundraising events

helping with the book rental collection event in June

volunteering to become an officer of the Parents' Council.

Spring 2022 - we need volunteers

Some of the parents on the council have sons in sixth class, so they will not be involved with the school after June 2022.

How can I get involved?

In January, the principal will send an announcement through Aladdin Connect, asking parents/guardians to fill in an electronic form with their details if they want to support the parents' council.

A Zoom meeting will also be announced, inviting parents who are interested in learning more about the Council to get involved.

There won't be any elections for officer positions at that first meeting - so please join us to learn more!
